I. Sculpture ympozium Jistebník 2017

The first sculptural symposium in Jistebnik 2017, which was attended by artists: Juraj Čutek, Zdeněk Tománek, Peter Nižňanský and Boris Jirků.

"Gallery Street in Jistebnik began its own election campaign. People here organized a sculpture symposium entitled" Vote for Art, it's here for forty thousand years for all of us ". “Candidates” for the second year of this symposium, became four artists who worked on their wooden sculptures at the Jistebnk pond.

Slovak sculptor Juraj Čutek likes sculptural technique and its history. In Jistebník he created a Wooden goddess. “In the Louvre, the goddess of victory, Niké, is like a statue with feather wings, mine has wings from an airplane. There is a shift to a new age, ”he described his work. In Jistebnik, Niké will fly over water. The local pond has been guarding the Guardian of a pond by Peter Niznansky for a year. “I try to make a female counterpart to him,” this year the Guardian gets his “partner” from the same author.

Boris Jirků is also known as an illustrator, recently completed illustrations for the books of Bulgakov and Marquez, and he said he wanted to joke at the sculpture symposium. "Gallery latimerie is strange, Monkfish," he described his work. The last of the participants - Zdeněk Tománek - also reached into the animal kingdom. His statue depicts a pecker bird to scare away “ugly fish”.

Just as after the first year of the sculpture symposium, this year two of the sculptures will remain at the Jistebnik pond, and two will decorate the bridge at the entrance to the Gallery street. "
